Chandigarh: The Punjab Government has issued a fresh administrative reshuffle involving two IAS officers, assigning key responsibilities in the Power, Industries and Investment Promotion sectors.
Gurkirat Kirpal Singh, a 2001-batch IAS officer, has been given additional charge of the Power and New & Renewable Energy Sources Departments. He was earlier serving as Principal Secretary, Social Security, Women & Child Development, besides holding additional responsibility of Industries & Commerce and Investment Promotion.
Meanwhile, Basant Garg, a 2005-batch IAS officer, has been moved from the Power and New & Renewable Energy Sources departments.
Garg has now been posted as Administrative Secretary, Industries & Commerce, with additional charge of Investment Promotion. He will also look after the responsibility of Promotion of Information Technology Industry.
The latest changes are aimed at realigning administrative responsibilities across important economic and energy-related departments in the state.
