Tamil Nadu IPS Transfers: Seven senior officers assigned new responsibilities

The Tamil Nadu government has transferred seven Indian Police Service (IPS) officers in a fresh round of administrative changes aimed at enhancing policing and law enforcement management across the state.

Kapil Kumar C. Saratkar has been shifted from the Tambaram Police Commissionerate to take charge as Inspector General of Police (IGP), Madurai. Replacing him, Abhisekh Dixit has been transferred from Madurai and appointed IGP, Railways, Chennai.

Dr. J. Longanathan, who was awaiting posting, has been assigned as IGP, Technical Services, Chennai. Similarly, Dr. R. Thirunavukkarasu has been posted as Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Tirunelveli Range after a waiting period.

P. Pakalavan has been appointed DIG and Joint Commissioner of Traffic for South Greater Chennai Police, while Disha Mittal has been moved from Traffic (North Greater Chennai) to Joint Commissioner, Law and Order (West Greater Chennai).

Another significant change sees Bandi Gangadhar, previously serving as DIG and Joint Commissioner of Law and Order (East Greater Chennai), appointed as Chief Vigilance Officer of Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited (TNPL).

The latest IPS reshuffle reflects the state government’s focus on strengthening leadership positions in police administration, traffic management, vigilance, and public safety.
