Three people have been taken into custody by the Shimla police in connection with a letter that was circulated on social media, accusing an IAS officer of corruption. The letter was allegedly written by a BJP worker.
The IAS officer, who is currently posted in Shimla, has denied the allegations and filed a complaint with the police. The police have registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including defamation and criminal intimidation.
The three people who have been taken into custody are:
Manoj Sharma, a resident of Bharmaur in Chamba district
Balbir Singh, a resident of Tissa in Chamba district
Rajinder Kumar, a resident of Shimla
The police are interrogating the three men to find out who wrote the letter and who circulated it on social media. They are also investigating whether there are any other people involved in the case.
The police have said that they will take action against all those who are found to be involved in spreading false and defamatory information about the IAS officer.
This is a serious case and the police are taking it very seriously. They are determined to find out who is responsible for writing and circulating the letter and to bring them to justice.
