The Government of Assam has assigned new responsibilities to four IAS officers. Virendra Mittal has been appointed as Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Assam, Finance Department, with additional charges in the Irrigation Department and ARIAS.
Mrs. Laya Madduri, previously managing multiple portfolios, has been relieved from her additional charge as Secretary, Science, Technology, and Climate Change. Ashwani Kumar has taken over as Director, Directorate of Information Technology, Electronics & Communication (DITEC).
Pallav Gopal Jha has been posted as Secretary, Science, Technology, and Climate Change Department. He also holds additional charges as Project Director for the Assam Urban Infrastructure Investment Program and the JICA-Assisted Guwahati Water Supplies Project, as well as Secretary, Social Justice & Empowerment Department. These strategic changes aim to enhance administrative effectiveness across critical sectors in Assam.
