The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways to assign additional charge of Chairperson, Cochin Port Authority to M. Angamuthu, IAS (2002 batch).

Angamuthu is currently serving as Chairperson, Mumbai Port Authority. He will hold the additional responsibility of the Cochin Port Authority, a post at the Joint Secretary level.

The additional charge will be effective for a period of six months from June 20, 2026, or until a regular appointment is made, or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier.

The appointment is part of the Centre’s interim administrative arrangement to ensure continuity in the functioning and leadership of the Cochin Port Authority.
