In an important administrative reshuffle, the West Bengal government has assigned new roles to four IAS officers, strengthening governance across key departments.
- Dr Rashmi Kamal, IAS, has been appointed as Director of Census Operations and Director of Citizen Registration, entrusting her with critical responsibilities related to population data and citizen records.
- Mrs Choten Dhendup Lama, IAS, presently serving as Principal Secretary, Tribal Development, has been given additional charge of the Paschimanchal Unnayan Affairs Department, expanding her administrative portfolio.
- Binod Kumar, IAS, has taken charge as Additional Chief Secretary, School Education Department, along with additional responsibilities of the Higher Education Department and State Editor, West Bengal District Gazetteers, placing him at the helm of the state’s education and documentation framework.
- Chinmoy Dey, IAS, has been posted as Special Commissioner, GST, Durgapur, where he will oversee tax administration and revenue operations in the region.
These postings reflect the state government’s continued efforts to optimise administrative leadership and improve service delivery across crucial sectors in West Bengal.
