- Discusses India’s Tourism Future with Union Minister for Culture and Tourism
New Delhi, 21 September 2026: A delegation of the Foundation for Aviation & Sustainable Tourism (FAST), headed by its President, General K. M. Seth, AVSM, PVSM (Retd.), former Governor of Tripura and Chhattisgarh, and Vice President Shri V. P. Agarwal, today met the Hon’ble Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
The meeting began with a warm felicitation, with the President of FAST presenting a bouquet of flowers to the Hon’ble Minister, marking the beginning of a meaningful dialogue on the future of tourism in India.
The delegation briefed the Minister on FAST’s upcoming flagship conclave, “INDIA@2047 – From Tourism Potential to Global Tourism Leadership,” scheduled to be held on 21 October 2026 at the India International Centre, New Delhi, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and Incredible India.
On the occasion, Shri M. P. Bezbaruah, IAS (Retd.), former Secretary, Tourism, Government of India, presented his thought-provoking book, “Rethinking Tourism,” to the Hon’ble Minister. This was followed by an engaging discussion on the book’s central themes of rethinking tourism policy, sustainability and competitiveness in the context of Viksit Bharat.
The Hon’ble Minister appreciated the Foundation’s initiative and assured the delegation that, subject to any other pressing official engagement, he would make every effort to join the FAST seminar on 21 October.
FAST organises two national seminars every year—one on Aviation and the other on Tourism—with participation from policymakers, industry leaders and other stakeholders.
