New Delhi: IPS officer Manisha Nehra (2024 batch) has been transferred from the Telangana cadre to Haryana following her marriage to Gaurav, an IFS officer of the Haryana cadre.
The Union Ministry of Personnel has approved the inter-cadre transfer under Rule 5(2) of the IPS (Cadre) Rules, 1954, which provides for inter-cadre movement of officers in certain cases involving marriage.
A native of Rajasthan, Nehra was undergoing training in Telangana before the cadre change. Following the approval, she will now continue her IPS career in the Haryana cadre, where her husband is serving as an IFS officer.
The transfer enables the 2024-batch IPS officer to be posted in the same cadre as her spouse in accordance with the applicable service rules.
