In a significant administrative overhaul, the West Bengal government has transferred and posted 27 IPS officers to new assignments across the state.
As part of the reshuffle, Amit P. Javalgi has been appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP), Barasat Range, replacing his earlier posting in Burdwan Range. Alok Rajoria will now serve as Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Burdwan Range.
Several other key postings include Debarshi Dutta as Superintendent of Railway Police (SRP), Sealdah; Dinesh Kumar as Deputy Commissioner, North Division, Kolkata; Pushpa as Deputy Commissioner, Bidhan Nagar Zone; and J. Mercy as Superintendent of Police, CID, West Bengal.
Further appointments span important roles in Kolkata Police, CID, Intelligence Branch, Armed Police battalions, district police, and specialised units such as STF, Home Guards, and RAF. The reshuffle is aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and strengthening law and order management across West Bengal.
