Six Judges recommended as Chief Justices of various High Courts

In a significant development in the Indian judiciary, the Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of six senior judges as Chief Justices of different High Courts across the country.

Justice Soumen Sen has been recommended as the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court, while Justice Manoj Kumar Gupta is set to be elevated as the Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court. Ms Justice Revati P. Mohite Dere has been recommended for appointment as the Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court, marking another important step towards greater representation in constitutional positions.

Justice M. S. Sonak has been recommended as the Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court, and Justice A. Muhamed Mustaque is proposed to take over as the Chief Justice of the Sikkim High Court. Justice Sangam Kumar Sahoo has also been recommended for appointment as the Chief Justice of the Patna High Court.

These recommendations reflect the Collegium’s focus on strengthening judicial leadership, administrative efficiency and the delivery of justice across High Courts in India.
