Power Minister Inaugurates GRIDCON 2025

Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar, inaugurated GRIDCON 2025, the International Conference cum Exhibition, on March 9, 2025, at IICC Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, New Delhi. The event was attended by Union Minister of State for Power & Renewable Energy, Shripad Yesso Naik, along with key officials from the Ministry of Power, POWERGRID, and other PSUs.

Organized by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), GRIDCON 2025 is scheduled from March 9–11, 2025, under the patronage of the Ministry of Power and in collaboration with CIGRE, India. The event features over 2,000 delegates, 150 technical papers, and representatives from 30 countries.

With the theme “Innovations in Grid Resilience,” the conference will highlight advancements in grid infrastructure, smart energy solutions, and digital transformation. POWERGRID, a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power, currently operates 281 substations, over 1,79,594 ckm of transmission lines, and a transformation capacity of 5,46,461 MVA. The company continues to enhance automation and digital solutions, maintaining a transmission system availability of over 99.81%.
