Vinay Kumar Singh appointed as Joint Secretary in FT&TR Division of CBDT

Vinay Kumar Singh has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Foreign Tax and Technical Relations (FT&TR) Division of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) on deputation basis. He is an IRS-IT officer of the 1995 batch. He is currently serving as the Director of Income Tax (Investigation) in Mumbai.

Singh has a Master’s degree in Computer Applications from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. He has also undergone training in advanced tax administration at the National Tax Academy, Nagpur.

He has held several important positions in the Income Tax Department, including Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax (Investigation), Joint Commissioner of Income Tax (Investigation), and Director of Income Tax (Investigation). He has also served as the Director of the Central Economic Intelligence Bureau.

Singh is a recipient of the President’s Award for Meritorious Service. He is also a member of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) Board of Studies.

In his new role, Singh will be responsible for handling international tax matters, including tax treaties, double taxation avoidance agreements, and transfer pricing. He will also be involved in technical matters related to income tax law and policy.

Singh is a highly qualified and experienced officer with a proven track record of success. He is well-placed to handle the challenges of his new role.
