Two senior IAS officers from Tamil Nadu transferred to the Centre to take up key positions in the government

S Krishnan, a 1989-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). He will replace Alkesh Kumar Sharma, who retired on August 31. Krishnan has over 32 years of experience in the government sector, and has held various important positions in the state of Tamil Nadu, including the finance secretary and the chief executive officer of the Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Board.

Neeraj Mittal, another 1989-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the secretary of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). He will replace K Rajaraman, who retired on August 31. Mittal has over 30 years of experience in the government sector, and has held various important positions in the state of Tamil Nadu, including the principal secretary of the information technology department and the managing director of Guidance Tamil Nadu.

The transfer of these two senior IAS officers to the Centre is a significant development, and it is expected that they will play a key role in the implementation of the government’s policies in the areas of electronics and information technology, and telecommunications.

The appointments of Krishnan and Mittal are part of a larger reshuffle of IAS officers that has been taking place in recent months. The government has been transferring senior IAS officers to key positions in the Centre in order to strengthen its bureaucracy and implement its policies effectively.

The transfer of Krishnan and Mittal is a positive development for the state of Tamil Nadu. Both officers are highly experienced and have a proven track record of success. Their appointment to the Centre will be a loss to the state, but it is also an opportunity for them to make a significant contribution to the country.
