In a major administrative reshuffle, the West Bengal government has ordered new postings for 26 IPS officers across the state. Anoop Jaiswal has been appointed as Inspector General (IG), CID. Arijit Sinha, DIG, Midnapore Range, has been given additional charge of DIG, Jangalmahal Battalion, while Shrihari Pandey will take charge as DIG, Intelligence Branch, North Bengal.
Biswajit Mahato has been transferred as Deputy Commissioner (DC), Special Branch, Bidhannagar Commissionerate. Nima Norbu Bhutia has been posted as Commanding Officer, State Armed Police, 10th Battalion. Mrs Sujata Kumari Veenapani is now DC, Headquarters, Howrah Police Commissionerate, and Asim Khan has taken over as DC, Traffic, Howrah.
Rakesh Singh has been posted as DC East, Siliguri Commissionerate, while Shyamal Samanta has been appointed as Special Superintendent, CID. Makwana Meetkumar Sanjaykumar will serve as DC, Traffic, Bidhannagar. Tauseef Ali Azhar has been posted as DC, Central, Howrah, and Kalyan Sinha Ray as DC, Detective Department, Howrah.
Rana Mukherjee has taken charge as DC, Special Branch, Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate, while Rupantar Sengupta has been posted as DC, Detective Department, Chandannagar. Indrajit Sarkar is now SP, STF, West Bengal.
Indra Badan Jha has been appointed as DC, Central, Barrackpore, and Ali Aboobacker TT as DC, Detective Department, Barrackpore. Manish Joshi has been posted as DC, Detective Department, Bidhannagar. Ms Polumati Sharanta has been appointed as Additional DC, Special Branch, Howrah, while Ms Shailja Das will serve as Additional SP, Rural, Hooghly Rural.
