State Government reshuffles 12 Senior Police officers in Bihar

The Bihar Government has carried out a major IPS reshuffle, transferring 12 senior police officers to key positions across the state in an effort to reinforce law enforcement, internal security, and police administration.

Senior IPS officer Preeti Verma (1991 batch) has been appointed Director General-cum-Commandant General, Grih Raksha Vahini. Nirmal Kumar (1994 batch), currently serving as DGP (Training), has been entrusted with the additional charge of DGP, De-addiction and State Narcotics Control Bureau.

Among other significant postings, Pankaj Kumar (1995 batch) has been named ADGP-cum-CMD, Bihar Police Bhavan Construction Corporation, while Sudhanshu Kumar takes over as ADGP (Traffic) with additional responsibility for the Special Vigilance Unit. Amrit Raj has been posted as ADGP, Anti-Terrorist Squad, and K.S. Anupam assumes charge as ADGP (Law & Order), Patna, along with the additional responsibility of ADGP (Weaker Sections), CID.

The transfer list also includes Rajesh Kumar as IGP, Railway, Patna, S. Premlatha as IGP, Bihar Special Armed Police, Garima as Commandant, Bihar Special Armed Police-9, Jamalpur, Shivam Dhakad as SP (Rural), Madhubani, and Komal Meena as SDPO-11 (Law & Order), Patna.

The latest reshuffle reflects the state’s focus on improving policing standards, administrative efficiency, and security management through strategic deployment of experienced IPS officers.
