Kolkata: Veteran industry leader Anupam Misra has officially taken over as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) on July 1, marking the beginning of a new leadership chapter for the state-owned mining giant. With more than three decades of expertise across marketing, international trade, business development, and the metals sector, Misra is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening India’s copper ecosystem and advancing the country’s critical mineral security.
He holds a B.Tech (Honours) in Civil Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from IIM Lucknow. He has further enhanced his leadership credentials by completing the General Management for Shipping programme at IIM Ahmedabad and a one-year International Business Programme from IIM Calcutta.
