VPPL to build Toll-Free service road for Vadhvan Port Access, boosting local growth

Vadhvan: Vadhvan Port Project Ltd (VPPL), India’s 13th major port, has announced a major infrastructure initiative: the construction of a dedicated two-lane service road to support both port operations and the local community. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is acquiring land for the broader NH-248S highway, which will link the port to the Mumbai-Vadodara Expressway.

In response to community needs, the road will be toll-free and include underpasses, flyovers, and pedestrian access. VPPL Chairperson Unmesh Sharad Wagh stated the project is designed to uplift local economies, improve connectivity, and support regional development.
