UP IAS Transfers 2026: Major administrative reshuffle across key Departments

In a significant bureaucratic overhaul, the Uttar Pradesh government has reassigned several IAS officers to strategic roles across departments. Arvind Mallappa Bangari has been appointed Special Secretary to the Chief Minister, while Nitish Kumar will now serve as Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation. Shruti has taken charge as Managing Director of Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam, Agra.

Ashutosh Niranjan has been posted as Transport Commissioner, whereas Kinjal Singh assumes the role of Secretary in the Secondary Education Department. Durga Shakti Nagpal has been appointed Commissioner of Devipatan Division. Shashi Bhushan Lal Sushil takes over as Principal Secretary, MSME and Export Promotion Department.

Alok Kumar II has been relieved of his responsibilities as ACS, MSME & Export Promotion. Ravinder Singh has been given multiple roles including Special Secretary, Energy, Director of UPNEDA, and MD of Uttar Pradesh Renewable and EV Infrastructure Limited. Mridul Chaudhary will now oversee Tourism as Special Secretary and Director.

Further appointments include Ashwani Kumar Pandey as Director, Minority Welfare; Harshita Mathur as Director, Child Development and Nutrition; Anita Verma Singh as Special Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies and Controller, Legal Metrology; and Sachin Kumar Singh as Additional Director, UP State Agricultural Produce Market Board.

Basant Agarwal has been appointed Director, ESI Scheme (Labour Medical Services), while Saumya Pandey has been relieved from this role. Junaid Ahmed takes charge as Additional Labour Commissioner, Kanpur. Himanshu Gautam and Mukesh Chandra have been appointed Vice-Chairmen of Jhansi and Hapur-Pilkhuwa Development Authorities respectively.

Other key postings include Keshav Kumar as Registrar, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University, and several Chief Development Officer (CDO) appointments across districts including Hapur, Badaun, Bahraich, Amethi, and Jhansi.
