Two Haryana IAS officers arrested for corruption

Two Haryana IAS officers, Vijay Singh Dahiya and Jaibir Singh Arya, were arrested on October 11-12, 2023, for corruption.

Dahiya was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Haryana in connection with a bribery case registered in April 2023. He is alleged to have demanded and accepted a bribe of ₹5 lakh from a contractor in exchange for clearing pending bills.

Arya, the managing director of Haryana State Warehousing Corporation, was arrested by the ACB for seeking a bribe of ₹2 lakh from a subordinate officer for posting him as divisional manager in Kurukshetra.

The arrest of the two IAS officers is a major development in the fight against corruption in Haryana. It is a signal that the government is serious about tackling corruption at all levels.

The ACB is investigating both cases and further arrests are expected.

The arrest of the two IAS officers is a reminder that corruption is a serious problem in India. It is also a reminder that no one is above the law, not even senior government officials.

The government must take all necessary steps to eradicate corruption from India. This includes strengthening the anti-corruption agencies, increasing transparency in government operations, and making it more difficult for people to get away with corruption.
