Chandigarh Administration Assigns Additional Responsibilities to Three IAS Officers.

In a reshuffle within the Chandigarh Administration, three senior IAS officers have been entrusted with additional responsibilities, expanding their portfolios to cover critical sectors of governance.

Mandip Singh Brar has been assigned the additional charge of Secretary Culture, adding to his existing duties within the administration. His role will now focus on promoting cultural initiatives and heritage preservation in the Union Territory.

Additionally, Hari Kallkkat has been tasked with new roles as the Commissioner of Excise & Taxation and Secretary of the Agriculture Marketing Board, further strengthening his position in managing revenue collection and agricultural policies within Chandigarh.

Meanwhile, Ms. Prerna Puri has been given a significantly expanded portfolio, taking on additional responsibilities for Education, Engineering, Food & Supplies, Consumer Affairs & Legal Metrology, Public Relations, Sports, and Cooperation. Ms. Puri’s wide-ranging new duties place her at the forefront of key sectors, including education reform, infrastructure management, and public engagement.

These strategic changes are aimed at enhancing administrative efficiency and ensuring better governance across these diverse and crucial sectors in Chandigarh.
