The central government has announced a major reshuffle in senior bureaucratic positions in various critical departments and ministries. Key changes include the appointment of new secretaries in the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT),

Vivek Joshi, who previously served as Secretary of the Department of Financial Services, has been appointed as Secretary of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), where he will oversee personnel management and policy implementation. Rajesh Kumar Singh, formerly the Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, has been appointed as the next Secretary in the Ministry of Defence. Additionally, new appointments include the Secretary to the President of India, Chairperson of the National Authority Chemical Weapons Convention, and positions in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Department of Atomic Energy, National Commission for Minorities, and Deputy Director General of Civil Aviation.

1. Dr Vivek Joshi IAS (Haryana 1989), presently Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, is appointed as Secretary – Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.

2. Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh IAS (Kerala 1989), currently serving as Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has been appointed as the next Defence Secretary of India. Until he officially assumes this role, Shri Singh will serve as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Department of Defence, Ministry of Defence.

3. Shri Katikithala Srinivas IAS (Gujarat 1989), currently Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs, is appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

4. Shri Manoj Govil IAS (Madhya Pradesh 1991), currently Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, is appointed as Secretary, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance.

5. Ms Vandana Gurnani IAS (Karnataka 1991), presently in the cadre, is appointed as Secretary (Coordination), Cabinet Secretariat.

6. Shri Chandra Sekhar Kumar IAS (Odisha 1992), currently Special Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj, is appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs.

7. Ms Neelam Shammi Rao IAS (Madhya Pradesh 1992), currently serving as Central Provident Fund Commissioner, Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation, Ministry of Labour and Employment, is appointed as Secretary, National Commission for Minorities, Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India.

8. Ms Punya Salila Srivastava IAS (AGMUT 1993), currently Special Secretary, Prime Minister’s Office, is the next Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Until she officially assumes this role, she will serve as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Department of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

9. Ms Deepti Gaur Mukerjee IAS (Madhya Pradesh 1993), presently CEO, National Health Authority, is appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

10. Ms Deepti Umashankar IAS (Haryana 1993), currently Establishment Officer & Additional Secretary, Department of Personnel & Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, is the next Secretary to the President of India. Until she officially assumes this role, she will serve as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the President of India.

11. Ms Sukriti Likhi IAS (Haryana 1993), currently Additional Secretary & Financial Adviser, Ministry of Steel, is the next Chairperson – National Authority Chemical Weapons Convention. Until she officially assumes this role, she will serve as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in National Authority Chemical Weapons Convention.

12. Shri Sanjeev Kumar IAS (Maharashtra 1993), presently Chairman of the Airports Authority of India, Ministry of Civil Aviation, is appointed as Secretary – Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence.

13. Shri Amardeep Singh Bhatia IAS (Nagaland 1993), currently Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, is appointed as Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

14. Shri Prashant Kumar Singh IAS (Manipur 1993), currently serving as Chief Executive Officer, Government e-Marketplace Special Purpose Vehicle, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has been appointed as the next Secretary – New and Renewable Energy, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. Until he officially assumes this role, Shri Singh will serve as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

15. Shri Ashok Kumar Kaluaram Meena IAS (Odisha 1993), currently serving as CMD, Food Corporation of India, has been appointed as the next Secretary, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti. Until he officially assumes this role, Shri Meena will serve as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti.

16. Shri Nagaraju Maddirala IAS (Tripura 1993), presently Additional Secretary, Ministry of Coal, is appointed as Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance.

17. Shri Pankaj Kumar Mishra IRS (Income Tax 1989), presently in the cadre, is appointed as Member Finance, Atomic Energy Commission, Department of Atomic Energy, a Secretary level position in Government of India.

18. Ms A Neeraja IFoS (Uttar Pradesh 1990), currently Special Secretary, Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, is appointed as the next Secretary – National Commission for Backward Classes, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment. Until she officially assumes this role, she will serve as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD), National Commission for Backward Classes, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.

19. Shri Sunil Paliwal IAS (Tamil Nadu 1993), presently Chairperson of Chennai Port Trust, continues as Chairperson, Chennai Port Trust. He has been given in-situ upgradation to the level of Special Secretary in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.

20. Shri Vikram Dev Dutt, IAS (AGMUT 1993), presently Director General, Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Civil Aviation, continues as Director General, Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Civil Aviation. He has been given in-situ upgradation to the level of Special Secretary in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.
