THDC India Limited (THDCIL) has executed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat for the development of the 2,210 MW Anjan Kund Pumped Storage Project (PSP). Located in the Dang district, Gujarat, the project signifies a major step toward enhancing India’s energy infrastructure.

Investment: Approximately Rs. 13,200 Crores (US \$1.58 Billion approx.)
Location: Dang district, Gujarat
Purpose: Develop large-scale energy storage for round-the-clock renewable power and grid stability.
The MoU exchange took place on October 9, 2025, during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conferences in Mehsana, in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi.
THDCIL, a Schedule ‘A’ Mini Ratna PSU and a leader in this space, successfully executed the 1,000 MW Tehri PSP. R K Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director of THDCIL, highlighted the project as a milestone that exemplifies the company’s vision for sustainable energy storage systems.
Under the agreement, the Gujarat government will provide necessary State-level support, while THDCIL will spearhead the Anjan Kund PSP development.
