Six ICAS officers assigned additional responsibilities

In a significant development, six officers from the Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS) have been entrusted with additional responsibilities across multiple ministries. Ms. Suman Bala, who currently serves as Principal Chief Controller of Accounts in the Ministry of External Affairs, has now been given the added responsibility of overseeing accounts for the Ministries of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, and Road Transport & Highways.

Similarly, Akhilesh Jha, Chief Controller of Accounts in the Ministry of Rural Development, will now also manage financial accounts for the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.

Dr. Kavitha Gotru, already in charge of the Ministry of Textiles and Department of Commerce, has been assigned additional charge of the Ministry of Industry. Meanwhile, Ms. Sanchita Shukla, Joint Controller General of Accounts at the Office of CGA, has taken on dual responsibility by handling the Ministries of Electronics & IT and New & Renewable Energy.

Expanding their roles further, Ms. Chandan Mishra Dwivedi, Chief Controller of Accounts in the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, will now also supervise accounts in the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change. Additionally, Amit Mahan, Controller of Accounts for Civil Aviation & Tourism, has been entrusted with the post of Deputy Controller General of Accounts at the CGA’s Office in New Delhi.
