Jammu and Kashmir: The Jammu and Kashmir Administration has assigned the additional charge of Chief Secretary to senior IAS officer Shailendra Kumar (AGMUT: 1995) until Dr. Sajjan Singh Yadav (AGMUT: 1995) formally joins the Union Territory. The arrangement was announced through Government Order, dated November 1, 2026.
The Jammu and Kashmir Government has entrusted Shailendra Kumar, IAS (AGMUT: 1995), with the responsibility of looking after the charge of Chief Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir, until Dr. Sajjan Singh Yadav joins the Union Territory.
According to an order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), Shailendra Kumar, who is currently serving as Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Finance Department, will assume the additional responsibility.
Kumar is also holding the additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Agriculture Production Department.
The order was issued in the interest of administration and approved by the Lieutenant Governor. It was signed by M. Raju, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government.
The temporary arrangement will remain in place until Dr. Sajjan Singh Yadav, IAS (AGMUT: 1995), joins Jammu and Kashmir to take up the Chief Secretary’s assignment.
