South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a Coal India subsidiary in Chhattisgarh, has approved ₹170 crores for impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects in FY 24-25, surpassing its statutory budget of ₹99.76 crores. These initiatives focus on health, education, and skill development, with key highlights including:
- A ₹48.19 crore MoU with NIT Raipur for constructing a 500-bed ‘SECL Girls Hostel,’ inaugurated by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar.
- Phase II of “SECL ki Dhadkan,” a cardiac care initiative, which aims to treat 300 children with Congenital Heart Defects (CHD) across Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. So far, 13 children have been treated under this program.
These projects underscore SECL’s commitment to uplifting communities in coalfield regions, ensuring equitable growth and improved quality of life.
