Saurabh Rao, a seasoned IAS officer of the 2003 batch from the Maharashtra cadre, has been appointed as the Municipal Commissioner of Thane. This significant role places him at the helm of managing and overseeing the civic affairs of Thane, a bustling city in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
His appointment comes after the transfer of Abhijit Bangar, who previously held the position, to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The Election Commission of India approved this change, and Saurabh Rao is now tasked with leading Thane’s municipal administration.
