Gurugram, October 1, 2026: REC Limited, a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power and a leading NBFC, successfully concluded the REC Swachhata Inter-School Cricket Tournament organised under the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign at the Guru Dronacharya Sports Academy Cricket Ground, Sector 82, Gurugram. The two-day leather-ball T10 tournament brought together young sporting talent from eight schools across Gurugram, promoting the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline and cleanliness.
The tournament was organised by UDAAN, REC’s Sports & Wellness Club, in line with REC’s commitment to community engagement and the objectives of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign. The initiative transformed the cricket field into a platform for young students to imbibe the values of collective responsibility, healthy competition and civic consciousness.
A total of eight schools participated in the tournament, namely Amity International School-43, DAV Public School Sector-14, Raman Munjal Vidya Mandir, Amity International School-46, Summer Field School, Blue Bells Model School Sector-10, Suncity School and Presidium School. Matches were played in a knockout format over two days, with the winning teams advancing to the final round.
The tournament culminated in an exciting final match between Summer Field School and DAV Public School Sector-14, with Summer Field School emerging as the champions. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers and supporters, reflecting the growing spirit of sports and community involvement among young learners.
The successful organisation of the tournament underscores REC’s continued commitment towards fostering youth development, promoting wellness through sports and contributing meaningfully to national campaigns that inspire collective action for a cleaner and healthier India.
