REC supports healthcare with Rs. 8.41 Cr. for mobile medical units

REC Ltd. has pledged financial assistance of Rs. 8.41 crore for the procurement and deployment of seven Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS). This support also covers the operational expenses of these units for three years, ensuring sustained healthcare services.

The MMUs were officially handed over in the presence of Hon’ble Dr. Justice M. Jaichandren (Retd.), Chairman & Vice President of IRCS, Tamil Nadu State Branch, as the Chief Guest. The event also saw the participation of Shri Nainar Nagendran, MLA, Tirunelveli, as the Special Guest, and Shri Narayanan Thirupathy, Independent Director, REC Ltd., as the Guest of Honour, alongside other senior officials from REC Ltd. and IRCS Tamil Nadu.

As part of the ongoing ‘Doctor Aapke Dwaar’ initiative, these MMUs will play a crucial role in delivering primary healthcare services to underserved communities across seven districts of Tamil Nadu. This initiative aims to enhance healthcare accessibility, bringing essential medical services directly to those in need.
