REC partners with National Test House to boost RDSS quality assurance

REC Limited, a Maharatna public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Power, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Test House (NTH) to enhance quality assurance under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).

The MoU was signed at Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi, with the objective of strengthening material testing standards and ensuring more reliable and efficient power distribution infrastructure across the country. The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Department of Consumer Affairs and REC.

As part of the collaboration, third-party testing will be conducted through NABL-accredited laboratories. The partnership will also include technical workshops and training programs aimed at building robust quality frameworks and improving overall project execution under RDSS.

The agreement was signed by Prabhat Kumar Singh, Executive Director (RDSS), REC Limited, and Dr. Alok Kumar Srivastava, Director General, NTH. The event was witnessed by Nidhi Khar, IAS, Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs; Bharat Khera, IAS, Additional Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs; and Prince Dhawan, IAS, Executive Director (PMD), REC Limited.
