REC Limited, through its CSR arm REC Foundation, has committed Rs. 6 crore to Sankara Eye Hospital, Pammal, Chennai, for the ‘Eye Care for All’ project. This initiative aims to provide free cataract surgeries to 8,000 economically disadvantaged beneficiaries in and around Chennai.
The MoA was signed on February 17, 2025, between Smt. Thara Ramesh, Chief Program Manager, REC Regional Office Chennai, and Wg Cdr V. Shankar (Retd), Trustee, Sankara Eye Hospital, in the presence of Narayanan Thirupathy, Director (Independent), REC Limited. Speaking on the occasion, Thirupathy emphasized REC Foundation’s dedication to empowering communities by eliminating avoidable blindness and improving lives.
