Kolkata: Senior IAS officer Rajesh Pandey (WB:1995) has been appointed as the Chairman of Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, on deputation.
Before his new assignment, Pandey was serving as Additional Chief Secretary, Youth Services and Sports Department, while also holding the additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Co-operation Department in the Government of West Bengal.
His appointment has been made for a five-year deputation tenure from the date he assumes charge, or until he reaches the age of superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, as per the orders issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) and the Ministry of Power.
To facilitate his joining at the Centre, the Governor of West Bengal has approved the release of Rajesh Pandey from the state government with effect from 22 July 2026. He will now take charge as the Chairman of Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), one of India’s premier power generation and river valley management organisations.
This appointment marks an important leadership transition at DVC and brings an experienced administrator to the helm of the organisation, which plays a vital role in the country’s power and water resource management.
