The Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) has achieved a significant milestone with its Daitari Iron Ore Mines and Kodingamali Bauxite Mines receiving the coveted 5 Star Rating for FY 2023–24 from the Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM).
The awards, presented by Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy on July 7, 2025, in Jaipur, celebrate OMC’s exceptional performance in scientific mining, environmental stewardship, and community engagement. The mines were lauded for their progressive planning, safety practices, and adoption of international standards with minimal ecological impact.
The 5 Star Rating, instituted by the Ministry of Mines, represents the highest recognition under IBM’s Star Rating framework. OMC’s recognition reinforces its commitment to sustainable mining and positions it as a leader in responsible resource management in India.
