Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has effected a key administrative reshuffle involving three senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, with important changes in the General Administration, mining and social security sectors.
The General Administration & Public Grievance (GA&PG) Department issued the transfer and posting orders on September 7, 2026, bringing new responsibilities for senior officers.
Suresh Vashishth appointed Principal Secretary, GA&PG:
Senior IAS officer Suresh Kumar Vashishth (1998 batch) has been given charge as Principal Secretary to the Government, General Administration & Public Grievance Department.
Vashishth was earlier serving as Principal Secretary, Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department, along with additional responsibilities.
He will also continue to hold the additional charge of Principal Secretary, Parliamentary Affairs Department.
Sudhansu Samal gets additional responsibility as OMC CMD:
In another major appointment, Sudhansu Mohan Samal (2010 batch) has been appointed Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of Odisha Mining Corporation Ltd. (OMC).
Samal was serving as the Managing Director of OMC and will continue to hold the additional responsibility of Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC), Central Division, Cuttack.
With Samal taking charge as OMC CMD, the additional appointment of Girish S N, IAS, as Chairman of OMC Ltd. will come to an end.
Brundha D shifted to Social Security Department:
Meanwhile, Dr. Brundha D (2010 batch) has been appointed Commissioner-cum-Secretary to the Government, Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department.
She was earlier serving as Mission Director, National Health Mission, while also holding the additional charge of CEO, State Health Assurance Society (SHAS).
The latest Odisha IAS reshuffle marks significant changes in key administrative positions, including General Administration, mining, social security and public health-related assignments.
