NMDC, India’s largest iron ore producer, celebrated the nation’s 79th Independence Day across its mining projects and headquarters in Hyderabad. CMD Amitava Mukherjee unfurled the National Flag and addressed employees, emphasizing the spirit of ‘Naya Bharat’ and India’s growing self-reliance.
He lauded NMDC’s contribution to nation-building, stating, “Every tonne of ore we mine and every decision we take carries the weight of national trust.” The company reaffirmed its production goal of 55 million tonnes in FY26, aligned with its long-term vision of 100 million tonnes by 2030.
August 2025 was marked as a landmark month for NMDC Steel Limited (NSL), which achieved 11,205 tonnes of hot metal production in a single day, reported a ₹25.7 crore Q1 FY26 profit, and successfully rolled out 1.2 mm hot rolled coil.
The celebrations also featured cultural events and competitions across NMDC’s mining units in Chhattisgarh and Karnataka, fostering unity and teamwork among employees. The company reiterated its dedication to sustainable growth and environmental responsibility, aligned with India’s vision of a stronger, self-reliant future.
