NLCIL’s NIRL seals landmark PPA for 810 MW Solar Project in Rajasthan

In a major stride towards India’s green energy vision, NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), the renewable energy arm of Navratna PSU NLC India Ltd, has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) for an 810 MW solar power project. The agreement, signed in Jaipur, was witnessed by senior dignitaries including CMDs and state energy officials. Set in the sun-drenched Pugal Solar Park in Bikaner, this project is expected to generate 2 billion units of clean power annually and offset 1.5 million metric tonnes of CO₂ emissions.

As part of the Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Park (UMREPP) Scheme by MNRE, the project reinforces NLCIL’s commitment to India’s 2030 target of 500 GW renewable capacity. CMD Prasanna Kumar Motupalli hailed the agreement as a defining moment, calling the project the “jewel” of NLCIL’s solar portfolio. With this initiative, NLCIL takes a significant leap towards its goal of 10 GW renewable capacity and further deepens its strategic engagement with the State of Rajasthan.
