NLC India Limited (NLCIL), a Navratna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Coal, has been honored with the prestigious ”“Rajbhasha Shield” (First Prize)” for the year 2023-24. The award was presented by the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), Department of Official Language, Ministry of Coal, recognizing NLCIL’s outstanding efforts in promoting and implementing the use of Hindi as the official language.
The ”“Rajbhasha Shield”” is awarded to organizations, including Central Government Offices, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), banks, and schools, that demonstrate excellence in implementing the Official Language policies. The evaluation is conducted by TOLIC based on reports submitted by its member offices, comprising 60 institutions around Puducherry.
NLCIL earned the ”First Prize” for its exemplary performance in official language implementation, showcasing its leadership among organizations in the coal sector.
The award ceremony was organized by TOLIC (JIPMER, Puducherry) on December 30, 2024, during the valedictory function of the Hindi Fortnight celebrations at the Mini Auditorium, Academic Centre, JIPMER. Shri Rakesh Agarwal, Director of JIPMER and Chairman of TOLIC Puducherry, presided as the chief guest, and Smt. Manjhu Rahi, Director of VCRC-ICMRI, graced the occasion.
The award was received by NLCIL’s Hindi Officer on behalf of the organization. Shri Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD, NLCIL, and Shri Samir Swarup, Director (HR), congratulated the Chief General Manager (HR), the Hindi Cell, and all the Hindi officers and staff for this significant achievement.
This recognition highlights NLCIL’s unwavering commitment to implementing the Official Language Act and Rules. By imparting Hindi knowledge to its employees and adhering to exemplary practices, NLCIL continues to set a benchmark as a role model among coal companies for its dedication to promoting the Hindi language.
