In a fresh round of appointments, the Government of India has elevated several senior officers to the rank of Additional Secretary across various ministries and departments. Suman Billa has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, while Vir Vikram Yadav takes over as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (EF&CC). Strengthening the Cabinet Secretariat, both Keshav Kumar Jha and M. S. Srikar have been named as Additional Secretaries.
Solomon Arokiaraj has been given charge as Additional Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, and Abhijit Sinha has been entrusted with responsibilities in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
Further appointments include Amitabh Kumar as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce, and Ms. Yatinder Prasad in the Department of Science & Technology. Saurabh Kumar Tiwari has been named Additional Secretary in the Direct Benefit Transfer Mission, while Prabhat will take over in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
Sanjiv Shankar has been appointed in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, and Valeti Premchand will serve in the Ministry of Women & Child Development. The Ministry of Health will now have Ms. Vinod Kotwal and Hoveyda Abbas as Additional Secretaries, reinforcing its leadership. Lastly, Amitesh Kumar Sinha has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, bringing in fresh momentum to the digital governance space.
