NBCC to lead Rajasthan’s Rs. 3,700 Crore urban renewal project

NBCC (India) Limited, a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, has been selected as the lead agency for Rajasthan’s ambitious Rs. 3,700 crore Urban Renewal and Innovation Project in Jaipur. The mega project, approved by the state cabinet, aims to transform 95 acres of land along the B2 Bypass, Tonk Road, allotted by RIICO.

The development includes the construction of the Rajasthan Mandapam Convention Centre, IT and Global Capability Towers, luxury hotels, commercial hubs, and residential complexes. The highlight is the Rajasthan Mandapam Convention Centre, which will be built on 25 acres with a cost of Rs. 2,200 crore and capacity for 7,000–7,500 delegates, modeled on Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam.

NBCC will adopt a self-financing model, funding construction through sales and leases of developed assets, thus reducing the financial burden on the exchequer. Additionally, NBCC has already secured a Rs. 202 crore work order from RIICO for the Unity Mall (PM Ekta Mall) project in Jaipur, which has been sanctioned Rs. 100 crore by the Union Finance Ministry.

This project, aligned with Viksit Rajasthan 2047, is expected to boost tourism, employment, and the service industry while establishing Jaipur as an international convention and knowledge hub.
