Rs. 26.69 Crore (excl.GST) Project to Promote India’s Cultural Heritage and Global Cultural Exchange
NBCC (India) Limited, a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Divya Parivar Society (IDPS), New Delhi for the construction of the prestigious India International Cultural Centre (IICC) at Gurugram. This MoU aims to establish a world-class cultural centre dedicated to the preservation, promotion and global presentation of India’s rich cultural heritage.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr. Yogendra Narain, IAS (Retd.), Chairman, India International Cultural Centre, Gurugram and Dr. K. P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), NBCC (India) Limited and Sh. Anjeev Jain, Director (Finance), NBCC India Limited. The project is being supported under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC).
The MoU was signed by Dr. Amit Jain, President, International Divya Parivar Society (IDPS), and Shri Rajeev Kumar, CGM (Engg.) & SBG Head, NBCC, marking an important step towards the development of this landmark cultural institution at Gurugram.
Strategically located at Sector 9A, Gurugram, the IICC is situated approximately 20 minutes from the Indira Gandhi International Airport and in close proximity to the Dwarka Expressway. The Centre is envisioned as a cultural bridge between India and the world, facilitating access for international delegates, artists, scholars and tourists.
The proposed Centre will comprise an integrated ecosystem featuring a Saraswati Museum, dedicated to ancient Indian knowledge systems and manuscripts; a Gurukul and School of Languages for the promotion of Sanskrit and other Indian languages; a state-of-the-art auditorium for cultural performances; and a Research Centre, Library and Archives for scholars and researchers. It will also include a Cultural Exchange Hub for national and international cultural dialogues, workshops and residencies, along with hospitality and ancillary facilities for visiting artists, scholars and guests.
The IICC is envisioned as a landmark institution representing India’s cultural identity, integrating heritage, education, art, literature and hospitality. The Centre aims to preserve traditions, nurture talent, facilitate cultural dialogue and strengthen India’s cultural connect with the global community, embodying the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’.
The project will be developed on a total plot area of 1,260 sq. m. (13,562.64 sq. ft.) and will comprise 3 Basements + Stilt + Ground + 7 Floors. The total estimated project cost is Rs. 26.69 Crore (excl.GST). In line with the project’s focus on sustainability, the entire IICC campus will be designed as a sustainable Green Building in accordance with GRIHA/IGBC norms.
The project reflects NBCC’s continued commitment to delivering landmark institutional and cultural infrastructure while supporting initiatives that contribute to the preservation of India’s heritage and strengthening its cultural presence on the global stage.
