NBCC to breathe new life into stalled Meerut Township Projects

NBCC (India) Ltd., a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, has inked a strategic MoU with the Meerut Development Authority (MDA) for the revival and redevelopment of various stalled and pending projects in the city of Meerut. With an estimated investment of ₹296.53 crore, the agreement empowers NBCC to act as the implementing agency, using its self-sustainable redevelopment model.

The MoU was formally signed between Pradeep Sharma, Executive Director, NBCC, and Vijay Kumar Singh, Chief Town Planner, MDA, in the presence of MDA Vice Chairman Sanjay Kumar Meena, IAS. The project will focus on rejuvenating key residential and commercial zones including Shatabdi Nagar, Lohiya Nagar, and Vikas Vihar. The development will incorporate eco-friendly, accessible, and time-efficient construction practices. A joint empowered committee will oversee execution, funding, and progress tracking through an escrow mechanism.
