Reaffirming its commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure across the nation, NBCC (India) Limited, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, has been entrusted with the construction of nine state-of-the-art Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) campuses. The project, sanctioned by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, spans the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, and Telangana—targeting remote and underserved regions to ensure equitable access to quality education.
The permanent campuses will come up in Lohit, Pakke Kessang, Lepa Rada, and Lower Siang (Arunachal Pradesh), Noney (Manipur), Sonitpur, Majuli, and Charai Deo (Assam), and Bhadradri Kothagudem (Telangana). Each campus has been meticulously designed to include comprehensive civil and infrastructure facilities tailored to Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti’s standards. These include modern academic blocks with smart classrooms surrounding a central courtyard, fully equipped kitchens and dining areas, separate dormitories for boys and girls—each with warden residences—residential quarters for principals, vice principals, and staff, as well as guest accommodation.
In addition to academic facilities, the campuses will feature robust sports infrastructure such as a 400-meter EPDM track integrated with a football field, a multi-sport complex for basketball, volleyball, handball, and lawn tennis, and dedicated open gyms for boys and girls.
Supporting amenities such as an electrical substation, guardroom, pump house, and underground water and drainage systems ensure a fully self-sustained campus environment. Site development includes a 2.4-meter-high boundary wall, RCC roads, paver pathways, rainwater harvesting systems, tube wells, and extensive landscaping to create a holistic and secure learning atmosphere.
This initiative is a significant step in aligning with the Government’s vision of delivering inclusive, high-quality education to every corner of the country. Notably, NBCC is already executing similar projects across Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, the North Eastern Region (NER), Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi, with ongoing works valued at ₹346 crore. This expanded responsibility further reinforces NBCC’s role as a key player in nation-building through educational infrastructure.
