Ms. Meera Iyer, a 2000-batch officer of the Indian Forest Service from the Maharashtra cadre, has been appointed as Director of the Directorate of Forest Education under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC). She will serve in the position on deputation under the Central Staffing Scheme until March 14, 2026.
With over two decades of service in forestry and environmental governance, Ms. Iyer brings with her deep expertise in policy implementation, training, and ecological conservation. Her appointment to the Dehradun-based Directorate is expected to enhance the training and capacity-building ecosystem for forest officers across the country.
