In a significant development, Bihar has witnessed the transfer of 62 IPS officers in a major reshuffle. Avkash Kumar has been appointed as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Patna. Kundan Krishnan has been entrusted with an additional charge of the Special Task Force (STF), while Amit Kumar Jain takes over as the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Weaker Sections. Amit Raj will now serve as the ADGP (Security) in Patna. Ms. Shalini Singh has been designated as the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Counter-Terrorism Arrangements, with the additional responsibility of IGP (Security), Patna.
Rakesh Rathi has been appointed as the IGP, Purnia Region, and will also handle Technical Services, Communication, and the Economic Offenders Wing. Rajesh Kumar has been posted as the IGP for the Bihar Human Rights Commission in Patna, and Vinay Kumar has taken over as IGP (Operations), STF, Bihar, Patna. P. Kannan has been named IGP, Railways, Bihar, Patna, while Daljit Singh will serve as IGP, Crime Investigation Department, Patna. Ranjit Kumar has been posted as IGP, Bihar Special Arms Police, Patna, and Sanjay Kumar assumes the role of DIG, Economic Offenders, Patna.
Several new appointments have also been made for DSP and SP roles. Vikas Kumar will now serve as DSP, Bihar, Patna, and Navin Chandra Jha takes charge as DSP, Surveillance Investigation Bureau, Patna. Baburam has been assigned as DSP, Crime Investigation Department, Bihar, Patna. Anand Kumar has been posted as SSP, Gaya, and Dr. Inamul Haq Megnoo has taken over as SP, Arwal. Amir Javed has been designated as SP, CID (Weaker Section & Women Cell), Patna. Sanjay Kumar Singh will serve as SP, STF (Operation), while Upendra Nath Verma has been assigned as SP, Banka. Dr. Gaurav Mangla has taken charge as Commandant, Bihar Special Armed Police-7. Harimohan Shukla has been posted as SP, Kaimur, and Yogendra Kumar assumes the role of SP, Madhubani.
