Major reshuffle of IAS officers in Uttar Pradesh

In a significant reshuffle of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers in Uttar Pradesh, 16 senior officers have been reassigned to key positions across various departments. This reshuffle aims to enhance governance, improve administrative efficiency, and bring about better management in the state.

Among the notable appointments is Vijay Vishwas Pant, who has been appointed as the Divisional Commissioner of Lucknow. Additionally, Suhas LY, the Secretary of Sports & Youth Welfare, will now also hold the additional charge as the Director General of Youth Welfare, further expanding his role in youth development initiatives.

Other key appointments include Kinjal Singh, who has been appointed as the Transport Commissioner; Ranjan Kumar, who will take over as the Principal Secretary for AYUSH & Food Safety and Drug Administration; and Chetra V, who has been designated as the Director General of AYUSH. These changes are aimed at bolstering the effectiveness of crucial departments in the state.

Additional shifts include Kanchan Verma as Commissioner and Secretary of the Revenue Council, Monica Rani as Director General of School Education, and Roshan Jacob as Secretary & Commissioner of Food Safety and Drug Administration. Rajesh Kumar II has been appointed as Director General of Tourism, focusing on expanding tourism potential in the state.

Other important reassignment includes Saumya Agarwal as Divisional Commissioner of Prayagraj, and Anamika Singh, who has been given the role of Divisional Commissioner of Bareilly. B Chandrakala has been entrusted with the responsibility of Secretary of Forest, Environment & Climate Change and CEO of the UP Clean Air Management Project, reflecting the state’s push toward environmental sustainability.

Further, Aparna U will now serve as Secretary of Medical Education and Director General of Medical Education, while Manisha Trighatia has been appointed as Secretary of Women Welfare & Child Development. Brijesh Narayan has been made the Secretary of the General Administration Department, overseeing critical administrative reforms.

This comprehensive reshuffle is expected to bring a fresh outlook, increase administrative effectiveness, and ensure better service delivery across the state.
