Large-Scale Delhi Police reshuffle brings new faces to key positions

In a major administrative reshuffle, the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi approved the transfer and posting of 34 IPS and DANIPS officers across various wings of the Delhi Police. The exercise includes changes in district policing, traffic management, intelligence, security, licensing, and special units.

Among the key transfers, Sharad Bhaskar has been moved from DCP West to DCP Headquarters-III, while V. Hareshwar Swamy takes over as DCP West. Jimmy Chiram has been appointed DCP Traffic and given additional charge of SPUNER. Rahool Alwal has been posted as DCP North-East, and Shobit D. Saxena assumes charge as DCP Outer North.

Several women officers have also been assigned important responsibilities. Niharika Bhatt has been transferred as Additional DCP-I, North, while Neha Yadav has been given additional charge of the Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC). Aishwarya Sharma has been appointed DCP Licensing, and Isha Singh has been posted as DCP Welfare.

The reshuffle also includes promotions for two IPS officers of the 2022 batch. Ravindran B.M. has been elevated and posted as Additional DCP-I, North-West, while Vikas Meena has been promoted and appointed Additional DCP-I, Dwarka.

A number of DANIPS officers have also been assigned new responsibilities. Chandra Kumar Singh has been moved to the Crime Branch, Gaurav Gupta has taken charge as DCP Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), and Dhabi Anand Dinesh Bhai has been appointed DCP Metro. Ranbir Singh has been posted as DCP Traffic, while Pankaj Sood will oversee Supreme Court Security.

The large-scale reshuffle is aimed at strengthening operational efficiency and improving coordination across various units of the Delhi Police.
