Justice Rajiv Joshi, Judge of the Allahabad High Court appointed as a Judicial Member of the CAT

Justice Rajiv Joshi, a judge of the Allahabad High Court, has been appointed as a Judicial Member of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) in Kolkata. The appointment was made by the Central government on September 1, 2023.

Justice Joshi was born on March 23, 1961. He graduated in law from Allahabad University in 1985 and enrolled as an advocate on August 13, 1985. He practiced law in the Civil and Revenue side at the Allahabad High Court for over 30 years. He was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Allahabad High Court on September 22, 2017 and took oath as a Permanent Judge on September 6, 2019.

Justice Joshi is a highly respected jurist with a wealth of experience in the field of law. He is known for his integrity, fairness, and commitment to justice. He is also an expert in administrative law, which will be of great value in his new role at the CAT.

The CAT is a quasi-judicial body that hears appeals against administrative decisions of the government. It is headquartered in New Delhi and has benches in other major cities, including Kolkata. Justice Joshi’s appointment to the CAT is a welcome development and will be a great asset to the tribunal.
