Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), India’s top-performing port, has set an impressive tone for FY25 by recording a 21.28% year-on-year growth in container traffic for April 2025. The port handled 667,922 TEUs, along with 8.44 million tonnes of total cargo—marking a 17.81% increase from April 2024. BMCT terminal posted a record throughput of 229,848 TEUs, the highest ever at JNPA.
Additionally, 589 container rakes were handled, reflecting a 21.19% jump, with 93,758 TEUs moved via rail, showcasing a 24.24% growth. This solid performance underscores JNPA’s evolving infrastructure, streamlined cargo operations, and growing trade demand along the western coast.
