IPS reshuffle in Maharashtra Police

In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Maharashtra Government has transferred 21 IPS officers to new roles across the state, aiming to inject fresh leadership and improve law enforcement efficiency. Among the key changes, Rakesh Ola has been appointed Deputy Police Commissioner, Mumbai, while Somnath Gharge has taken charge as SP, Ahilyanagar, and Anchal Dalal as SP, Raigadh. The list also includes Mahendra Pandit as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Thane City, and Yogesh Kumar Gupta as SP, Kolhapur.

Several districts and police units have welcomed new officers—Bacchan Singh is now Commandant of State Armed Force, Bt 4 in Nagpur, and Archit Chandak becomes SP, Akola. Other notable appointments include Mangesh Shinde (SP, Railway, Nagpur), Balasaheb Patil (SP, Nashik Rural), and Vishwa Pansare (Commandant, State Armed Police Force, Bt 9, Amarwati). With senior officers like Rajtilak Roshan and Sameer Aslam Sheikh also posted as Deputy Commissioners in Mumbai, the reshuffle is expected to bring about dynamic changes in Maharashtra’s policing landscape.
