IPS officers empanelled as IG across multiple cadres

A fresh round of empanelments has brought forward several distinguished officers from the 2007 batch of the Indian Police Service (IPS) to hold the position of Inspector General (IG) and equivalent posts in the Government of India.

From the Uttar Pradesh cadre, four officers have been empanelled. These include Nitin Tiwari, Amit Pathak, Deepika Tiwari, and Pratibha Ambedkar — all recognized for their consistent service and leadership within the state police force.

The Uttarakhand cadre has seen the empanelment of two officers: Senthil Avoodai Krishna Raj and Sunil Kumar Meena. Their inclusion marks a step forward for the relatively younger cadre and brings valuable administrative experience to the national level.

From the AM cadre, two IPS officers — Sunil Kumar and C Venkata Subba Reddy — have also been empanelled for IG-level roles. Their service record and regional contributions have earned them this advancement to central appointments.

The AGMUT cadre, known for its wide geographical spread, leads with eight officers empanelled. The officers include Vijay Kumar, Seju P Kuruvilla, Nupur Prasad, Sujit Kumar, Vivek Gupta, Meghna Yadav, Surender Kumar, and Mohd Suleman Choudhary. Their diverse experiences across union territories and multiple states are expected to add significant value at the central level.

These empanelments reflect the Government of India’s ongoing efforts to strengthen senior police leadership by tapping into the experience and expertise of officers from across cadres.
