In a strategic move to strengthen administrative efficiency, the Government of India has appointed a series of senior officers as Additional Secretaries in-situ across diverse sectors. Ms. Sonal Mishra has been entrusted with the role in the Ministry of Skill Development, while Manish Thakur will contribute his expertise to the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
The National Authority for Chemical Weapons Convention (NACWC) will now have Ms. Indra Mallo serving in an elevated capacity. In the financial domain, D. Anandan has been named Additional Secretary in-situ in the Department of Expenditure, and Deepak Agarwal has been assigned to the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation (NAFED). Ms. Manmeet Kaur has been appointed to oversee matters related to Persons with Disabilities, continuing her impactful administrative journey.
Several other ministries have also seen key additions. Ms. Aparna Sachin Sharma has been placed in the Department of Fertilizers, while Ms. Nirupama Kotru will serve in the Ministry of Coal. The cultural landscape will benefit from the leadership of Ms. Amita Prasad Sarabhai, who takes on responsibilities in the Ministry of Culture. Social justice initiatives will be bolstered under the guidance of Biswaranjan Sasmal. In the domain of traditional industries, Ms. Amrit Raj has been designated as the Development Commissioner in-situ for Handicrafts. Meanwhile, Rama Shankar Sinha will contribute to the Animal Husbandry department, and Ms. G. Madhumita Das joins the Ministry of Labour in an enhanced capacity. Finally, Piyush Singh has been named Additional Secretary in-situ in the Ministry of Power, reinforcing the sector’s administrative leadership.
